Planning Kids Entertainment: Painting Birthday Party

While painting parties are a fun social activity that adults have already enjoyed in the past, planning a similar kids party at home is a piece of cake, whether you’re with your adult friends experimenting with old paints for entertainment or allowing the children to play with washable acrylic paints.

Kids Entertainment Painting

Hosting a kids painting party for your child and their friends is extremely fun.

It allows the kids to get a little messy, stir up some creative juices, and could entertain them during a time of the year in colder weather.

If you’re tired of clowns and bouncy houses, a kids painting party is your best bet.

Here are some of the things you’re going to know and need to be able to have a creative kids entertainment painting party where they could show off their artistic sides.

The Set-Up

Purchase or create an artist party tablecloth. This tablecloth is thicker than most plastic tablecloths in the market and can be wiped off easily.

Add colorful balloons to make the room look more festive and fun. Decorate with party streamers. You’re going to invest more in the painting materials and food.

The painting area and dining area should be different and far from each other.

The Food

Everybody loves pizza.

You can make your own pizza bites from scratch or can easily buy a box of mini pizzas in the freezer section of your local supermarket.

Preparing these will take less than 30 minutes to make. The kids can dip them in a marinara sauce or leave it as is.

Top the pizza with pepperoni, ham, vegetables, and pineapples.

Many kids get excited when it’s fish and chips day at school. So why not make one at home that will become an instant favorite?

Making your own fish and chips at home is easy and fun, but it can sometimes take a lot of your time.

You could either purchase ready-to-fry fish fillet from the grocery or make your own from scratch.

If you make your own, you will know what kind of ingredients you’re putting in children’s mouths.

Purchase a kilogram of boneless fresh white fish, cut them into finger sizes, and then coat it with a mixture of flour, eggs, and bread crumbs. Pre-heat your oven to 210 degrees Celsius and then wait for it to bake at around 10 to 15 minutes until golden and sizzling.

For the chips, purchase a pouch of fries from the supermarket and just deep-fry them.

Rainbow No-Bake Cheesecake Parfaits

Best of all, it’s a no-bake dessert. Which only gives you more time to prepare for other food and activities.

Greek Yogurt Drops

These are kid-friendly Frozen Greek Yogurt drops that are a healthy and delicious treat for kids of all ages.

It’s easy to make food taste like dessert that the kids won’t even notice that these are healthy treats.

All you need is Greek yogurt, a cookie sheet, Ziplock bags, and a freezer to store these bite-sized desserts. Just spoon the yogurt into the bag and then cut off the corner tip to create a small hole.

Squeeze out the yogurt from the bag into the cookie sheet then place them in the freezer once done.

You can also add sprinkles or dark chocolate chips to each one.

The Kids Painting Party Materials

You’re going to need fresh paints. You can choose washable options for kids, so if they get some on their skin, it’s easy to take off.

These paints will be placed on paper plates. It’s easier, larger, and mess-free. For added appeal, cut a circle as a thumb hole in the plate/palette.

You should also purchase new paintbrushes that have both soft and hard bristles. You’ll never know which kid would prefer and how many they would. Never underestimate how many they will manage to use in a single painting party. To minimize post-party clean up, be on standby to help them rinse the brushes.

Canvases – while the high-quality paper is alright, there’s something about giving them canvas which would make them even more excited and creative. It’s going to be the main event for kids entertainment in the party.

An apron with their name painted on the front, so they’ll also have a party favor to go home with.

Don’t forget water and a cup for cleaning the brushes and, of course, paper towels.

Easels are optional, but it would be easier for them to work with. It’s hard to find, but it is affordable if you purchase a lot.

The Theme

Choose a theme and encourage the kids to paint to that theme. It could be about nature or the beach or even flowers.

Another popular choice is to allow the kids to select a professional work of art, and then they’ll copy it in their own style.

Kids Entertainment Party Favors

Each guest can take home their painting – ready to be hung on the wall. You would just love the look on the children’s faces when they turn the blank canvas into a beautiful masterpiece.

If you’re also feeling generous, in a bucket or little canvas tote bag, fill it with paint brushes and watercolor paint palettes

Some Helpful Tips

For some, it is easier to sketch something with a pencil. That way, you can help the kids plan and execute what they have in mind.

A hairdryer in the room is also a must-have. It will help expedite the paint dry time so that the colors can be layered without smudging them all together.

Once they’re all done, please encourage them to write their names on the painting. Either on the wooden frame or the canvas’ lower corner on the front.

A painting party can help discover a child’s hidden hobby or extraordinary talent at an extremely young age.
